As a European media group Mediahuis and Mather Economics have entered into a strategic partnership. Mediahuis thereby acquires a 35% participation in the US-based agency. The investment envisaged by Mediahuis will facilitate an acceleration of Mather’s ambitious international growth plans. And it’s time to move to Europe and that’s why Mather Economics is looking for new team member.

In addition to industries such as e-commerce, sports, digital services, and telecom, Mather has developed an extensive expertise within the publishing industry, helping publishers to build and maintain more profitable long-term relationships with their subscribers and advertisers.

The challenge
As our new but quite experienced salesmanager you’ll report directly to Director of Business Development. You’ll be responsible for developing sales relationships and leads for an assigned specific geographic area. The primary focus for the position is related to print and digital media, including newspapers, magazines and news websites. You have to understand their specific challenges and goals to be able identifying possible (sales) opportunities. Of course, you are not alone in this one, a team of professional and talented consultants abroad is there for all the help you need by developing proposals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with key decision makers in the industries where Mather desires to grow.
  • Establish contacts, secure appointments to identify sales opportunities. 
  • Planning and implementing sales outreach activities to develop relationships and close business.
  • Include Mather subject matter experts on sales calls where necessary to achieve potential client buy-in and close business. 
  • Work with team to develop and coordinate all Mather services and client relationships for the geographic region.
  • Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of sales and marketing activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years sales or communication experience required, preferably in an B2B environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Marketing, Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science of a related field.
  • Strong MS Office skilss including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Experience with social media and web platforms.

Besides all mentioned above we are looking for a strategic and critical thinker who is comfortable with making recommendations to solve complex problems.  Strong presentation and communication skills are an absolute must have.
